5 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and
you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me,
I was in prison and you came to visit me.' 37 "Then the righteous will answer
him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you
something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or
needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and
go to visit you?' 40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you
did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

Next community meal: August 158 - Pork BBQ Sandwiches
We would welcome your contributions to help purchase the meat. Please mark your checks for Community Meal. THANKS!
The First City family provides a community meal on the third Sunday of each month at the Loaves and Fishes
Soup Kitchen. Loaves and Fishes is
located at 257 E. Lee Street, between the I-110 overpasses. We ask all
of our volunteers to arrive with their food items at 5PM. Everyone is welcome to come and join us . . .
if you need to be fed or if you want to serve others. Call the office [433-0210] to volunteer.
GOODIE BAGS
UPDATE . . . urgent need this month for toothpaste, toothbrushes, and men's socks
A "goodie bag" is given to everyone at the meal as they leave. We always can use the following items for the bags: men's white socks, disposable razors, travel sized shampoo, soap, deodorant and toothpaste, toothbrushes, individually wrapped peppermints, gallon sized zip-loc storage bags, $5 gift cards to Wendy's, McDonald's or Subway. Items may be brought to the church office during the week or placed in the basket located in the front lobby on Sundays.
