2006 Ecuador Mission Trip
Tuesday, June 6

Tuesday morning, workday #2 . . . a brief siesta before starting work

Jerry explains one of the days projects . . . cleaning up construction debris around
the new hacienda

Work project . . . placing sand on the path to the prayer dome in preparation for placing
concrete pavers on the path

Each day, mid-morning & mid-afternoon, the snack patrol visited us . . .

The sand crew is finished!

Loading leftover clay roof tiles . . .

A barrel, a hill, lots of mud . . . looks like great fun?

After supper Tuesday night we went to the hacienda to help celebrate Darwin's 8th
birthday . . . Darwin is the son of Martin and Lorena who serve as house parents

Darwin (and all the kids) love taking pictures . . .

Local custom . . . after singing "Feliz Cumpliaños" and blowing out the candles everyone
starts chanting "bite the cake, bite the cake . . ." and that's exactly what Darwin did!
