We have two areas that are the biggest need for our foster families at FCC right now. Here are the best way you can help serve in Lift Ministry right now:

Frozen Meals

One of biggest offerings our Lift Ministry offers is to provide each foster family with meal once a week. We do a monthly meal drive to stock up on all the frozen meals that we will need for the month. On the second Sunday of each month we have the Lift Room open to anyone who is dropping off a meal for a family that month. We want to encourage all our Lift volunteers to consider donating one frozen meal a month to the Lift freezer.

Here are some great freezer meal ideas:
  • Baked Spaghetti/Baked Ziti
  • Chicken and Rice Casserole
  • Chicken and Broccoli Casserole
  • Enchiladas
  • Red Beans and Rice
  • Poppy seed Chicken
  • Chicken and Dumplings
  • Chicken Pot Pie
  • Stuffed Shells
  • Jambalaya
  • Any kind of Soup
  • And kind of Crock Pot Meals

Babysitting

Our other top priority, as we support our foster families, is providing babysitting for each of the ten families once a month. We are looking for volunteers to babysit for three to four hours at a time, so that we can give our foster parents a much needed break. If this is an area you would be willing to serve in, here are the steps to sign up:

  1. Complete a background check. If you would like to help, we first need you to complete a background check. This can be done in person at the church office or online by emailing your request to Lift@firstcitychurch.org.
  2. Lift will contact you. After we receive the completed background check you will be contacted about your availability and opportunities to serve.
  3. You start serving!
